Anas Yusuf 50th minute spot kick marked Nasarawa United return to the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL at the Lafia City Stadium against visiting Shooting Stars FC of Ibandan.
Ayomide Samuel late equalizer in the 90+3 of the game made sure it ended 1-1 and spoiling United welcome party from the Nigeria National League NNL .
Nasarawa United dominated both halfs however they lacked the killer touch in front of goal.
With the commencement of the second half coach Kabiru Dogo brought in the Nonso Charles who was brought down in the six yard box which Anas Yusuf calmly slotted in the ball from the spot in the 50th minute.
United were unable hold-on to thier lead late in the game as Samuel Ayomide capitalize on a poor corner kick clearance and scramble which he beat goal keeper Godwin Ameh from close range.
For coach Kabiru Dogo who is making his return to the team as a Gaffer for the second time, said he only had four days training with the boys however he believes they will get better.
” For me , I will say 3SC are lucky today,if you see the chances we had and lost, 3SC had two chances and they used one, my boys are just coming from the NNL and you see, experience counts, my boys will blend and they will come out well along with the new boys “Dogo added
On his return back to the club, Coach Dogo said it’s a home coming and his ready to Complement Gov. Abduallhi Sule’s Sporting drive .
“Nasarawa is my home, infact I had a year contract left with Kwara United, but when I decided to come here all the Elders said you are leaving your state, and I said no, Nasarawa is my State, in fact my second wife is from here and His Exllencey is doing well when it comes to sports and am here to Complement Gov.Sule’s effort.” He added

On his part, 3SC Coach, Gbenga Ogunbote expressed his happiness that his Boys played well despite Losing two points.
“I didnt see us Losing the game, When a team gets promoted, you need to study them, thats why we soaked the pressure and the second half we played our game.”
For his boldness, Anas Yusuf was voted the Infinix Mobility/SWAN Nasarawa State Man-of-the-Match recipient after scoring United’s first goal of the new campaign which was presented to him by Nasarawa State Swan Chairman Sahm George and Marketing Representative of INFINIX MOBILITY, Lafia, Nnamani Christian.
