Nasarawa State Government Has Expressed Great Joy at the Pace of Renovation of the Akwanga Youth Center…Promises A Modern Youth Center.

Nasarawa state Commissioner for Youth and Sports development Amb. Lucky Yargwa has expressed great joy at the level of work done in the ongoing renovation of the Akwanga Youth Center , in Akwanga LGA of the state.

Amb. Yargwa expressed his level happiness when he paid an unscheduled visit to the Center on Thursday afternoon, 18th May, 2023.

According to Amb. Yargwa, the contractor was awarded the contract on the 5th of May, in which he mobilized to site, 6th May and in a short time he has recorded great progress for a project of four months target.

“I am certified with this very job because the job was awarded on the 26th of last month(April) and then we brought the contractor on site on the 5th of the month (May) so from what have seen today , despite been here for the second time, am impressed and we would keep on monitoring the work.”

The Youth commissioner further added some inclusion where added to the initial plans to give the Akwanga Youth Center a modern look and in turn generate revenue for government. Also he appreciated Gov. Sule for approving the renovation, which was last done in 1988, thereby calling on the youths and the host community to protect the facility when completed.

“It is to also serve as revenue to the State Government, I believe with what we have seen today, there are something that where not captured, but base on our assessment, base on what we have seen on ground some of those things needs to be on ground, so that it would not just be a youth center, but it would be a modern youth center with lodge and other facilities. “

In terms of the youth center in Lafia, Amb. Yargwa added that work would soon commence before the four months elapse for the Akwanga Youth center and that of Nasarawa Youth Center, he said an individual is ready to partner with government to see that renovations is carried out.

Site Architect Bala Tsaku said the work is ongoing fine, the host community has been welcoming to them, thereby promising to finish the renovation before the four months target .

Comr. Bello Samson chairman Nigeria Youth Council and Nuhu Giwa Danmuri Mada, both expressed great joy, thereby commending Engr Sule for always remembering the youths and they further promised to protect the Akwanga Youth Center when completed by September 2023.
