MUTUAL PARTING OF WAYS: Nasarawa United and Coach Kabir Dogo Go Separate Ways, Salisu Yusuf Appointed as Replacement

In a shocking move, Nasarawa United FC has announced the mutual termination of Coach Kabir Dogo’s contract, effective immediately. The decision comes after a disappointing run of results in the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League Season, which has seen the team fall short of expectations.

Despite Dogo’s efforts, the team’s performance has not improved to the desired level, prompting the management to make a change. In a statement, the club expressed gratitude to Dogo for his commitment and hard work during his second stint with the Solid Miners.

“I want to thank Coach Kabir Dogo for his dedication and service to the club,” said Eche Amos, Director of Media, Nasarawa United FC in a Sunday evening statement. “Unfortunately, results have not gone in our favor, and we feel it is in the best interest of the club to move forward with a new direction.”

To replace Dogo, the club has appointed former Super Eagles Chief Coach, Salisu Yusuf, as the new Technical Director. Yusuf, a CAF ‘A’ licensed coach, boasts an impressive coaching CV, having managed several clubs and national teams in Nigeria.

“We are excited to have Coach Salisu Yusuf on board,” said Amos. “His experience and expertise will be invaluable in helping us turn around the fortunes of the club. We are confident that he will help us compete at the highest level of club football in the country.”

Yusuf’s appointment is seen as a major coup for the club, and fans will be eager to see how he can transform the team’s fortunes. With several key matches coming up, the new coach will have his work cut out to get the team back on track.

The club has assured supporters that they are committed to improving performance and competing at the highest level. “We appreciate the continued support and understanding of our fans during this period of transition,” said Amos. “We are confident that with Coach Yusuf at the helm, we will see an improvement in our results and a return to the top tier of Nigerian football.”

Nasarawa United are currently 18th on the log with with 26 points and will face Bayelsa United away on match day 25.
