The member representing Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon made this known on Monday 14th August 2023 on Option FM radio Programme Mattersarising, via a telephone interview.

Hon. J.J Umaru said the whole idea behind the distribution of the three transformers is based on his campaign promises and it’s the first batch with more come, further stressing that it has nothing to do with politics and is born purely from love.

“By the grace of God we got 300kva transformers and we distributed it to each of the Local Governments and the idea was that during the campaign, one of the oppressing demand they ask is power, so I told myself if I get opportunity the first thing is to consider them first… Who ever knows JJ, knows am not a conventional politician, I resigned my work because of the way people in the zone are suffering mostly from the federal presence , and I told myself if I win the election I will connect the people to the whole world.”

The transformers are to be installed in Arum Tumara (Wamba LGA), Agwadi (Akwanga LGA) and Nassarawa Eggon town of the Constituency.

When questioned on bringing federal presence in the zone, relating it to a bill moved by Hon. Abdualkarim Omabas at the ninth assembly on “Federal University of Tourism “, he said he never pushed it aside as been speculated rather, the bill phased out with the ninth assembly since it didn’t get to the Senate for concurrence or assented to by the president.

However, Hon. JJ said he made several attempts to get in touch with Hon. Ombamas which proved abortive, but on his part, he has passed six bills which scaled through first reading.

In terms of other plans for the zone, Hon. JJ made it clear that within the week fertilizers, sprayers and street lights would be rolled out.

“I have some many plans, within today, tomorrow or before the week runs out they should expect fertilizers and sprayers from me and we are going to distribute them according to there electoral ward and we are going to give them to our farmers and we should also expect street solar lights, am not joking, am not doing it for myself, but for the people”
