Man In Akwanga Calls Motorcycle He Built “Spiritual”: Says It Took Two Months And Over N200k To Manufacture
By Michael Umudjon
Due to the high nature of purchasing a Motorcycle in Nigeria and the removal of fuel subsidy, it informed my decision of building a motorcycle in two months.
Engr James Enwongulu a lecture of Mechanical Engineering, with Isha Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, owned by Nasarawa State Government , made this known, Monday on Matters Arising, a current affairs programme on Option FM, Akwanga.
Engr. James Enwongulu a native from Nasarawa State, who has been with the Poly for two years said majority of the material he used in building the Motorcycle, named “Spiritual” which was named by his Nephew, was sourced within the state and little from China.
The Motorcycle (Spiritual )which runs on Premium Motor Spirit, cost over 200,000 Naira to manufacture.
“The motorcycle was very expensive so it gingered me to go into production, so I sat with my paper and biro to design, this is my frist product so am trying to work on other fuel, but so far it runs on petrol, am trying to make it economical, one of the ways to make automobile economical is by shading weight, so it takes only me…“

In terms of challenges faced while constructing the motorcycle, he said it was majorly the parts and Funds.
“Most of the iteams have been looking for are far away down the East, so but then i try to see what i can do within Akwanga, so actually funding is a problem too, most of the project am working on sourcing for parts is a problem too, as you said if i expand my search i will be able to get them.“
Meanwhile Engr James said he has been contacted by the Nasarawa State Engineering Society and he looks forward to whatever the meeting would bring.
While wrapping up the conversation in the studio, Engr James Enwongulu challenged the Youths to never give up in pursuing thier dreams regardless the situation.

On his part General Manager Option Radio, who doubles as the anchor Man Matters Arising, said the studio is always ready to support individuals with great ideas.
“
“Am deeply touched , I just feel like I will just squeeze money from somebody, some of our politicians or Elites in the society who have so much money that can give you to train our Youths and have more Bikes on the street, however they prefer to take thier money to Dubai , catch fun and sleep in comfortable Hotels. “
“We don’t have the money to give you, however with this platform by God’s grace you go blow but remember that we were part of the story.“

Option FM news desk also gathered that Engr. James Enwongulu is also building a car, we wish him the very best.
