Kaduna State Government reinstates 1,266 teachers sacked over competency test.

1,266 primary school teachers sacked in June 2022 over a competency test organised by Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai Kaduna state Government have be reinstated.

Kaduna Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) announced this in a statement on Wednesday by its Public Relations Officer, Hauwa Mohammed.

Having examined and verified their complaints. the Government approved the ‘ reinstatement of 392 teachers who wrote and passed the test, 515 Central Administration staff who are officially exempted from the test and 298 teachers who were verified to be sick at the time of the test and had a valid medical excuse backed by Doctor’s certificate. the statement read in part.

Mohammed explained the teachers are to immediately collect their reinstatement letters from their respective Education Secretaries.

The Statement reads full below;

“The Kaduna State Government has approved the reinstatement of 1,266 primary school teachers earlier disengaged after the competency test in June 2022.

” Having examined and verified their complaints. the Government approved the ‘ reinstatement of 392 teachers who wrote and passed the test, 515 Central Administration staff who are officially exempted from the test and 298 teachers who were verified to be sick at the time of the test and had a valid medical excuse backed by Doctor’s certificate.

” Others reinstated are teachers who were reported by their respective Education Secretaries, to have been victims of kidnapping or involved in accidents .

“ Finally 22 teachers were permanently removed from the payroll for unsubsiantiated claims.

” All the reinstated teachers are to collect their reinstatement letters from their respective Education Secretaries immediately.
