Insecurity: Restriction Of Movement Set To Hit Akwanga Town

In a bid to cub insecurity in Akwanga Town and it environs of Akwanga LGA in Nasarawa State a 9pm restrictions is being proposed to commence 29th July 2023.
This was made known on Thursday morning at a security meeting which held at the resident of Akwanga District Head, Sir Anthony Yamusa.
At the meeting, the District Head charged all the stakeholders to be security alert, He used the opportunity to call on ward heads and Mai-Angwans to vet the names of individuals been used as vigilantes by security agents.
On the issue of restriction of movement within Akwanga town and it’s environs, Sir Anthony, said there is a proposed date of 29th July, from 9pm, to cub the issues of kidnapping, illegal movements at the roundabout, phone snatchers among others.
The Army represented by it’s Platoon Commander in Akwanga LT. Mohammed Isah, said the Army has dislodged illegal check points set-up by individuals extorting money from truck drivers, released some individuals who have been kidnapped, thereby discouraging ransom payment, and seeking for more information from the public.
On their part, police representative CSP Lucy Iwok who represented the Akwanga Area Police Commander, called the public to provide necessary information to tackle insecurity.
Some flash points areas where mentioned by the security operatives in the course of the meeting such as Garaku-Gudi and Andaha- Gwantu high way.
The security meeting which was called by Akwanga District Head Sir Anthony Yamusa had in attendances security operatives, NURTW, Religious leaders, Market Association, Youth groups among others.
