FEDERATION CUP: NASARAWA UNITED EDGES KEBBI UNITED , ADVANCES TO ROUND OF 32, AS FC BASIRA FALLS TO SUNSHINE STARS

A goal in each half courtesy of central defender, Victor Collins, and striker, Ayuba Francis at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium, Minna, Niger State, were all Nasarawa United needed to progress to the 2023 Federation Cup round of 32.

The Solid Miners overpowered stubborn Kebbi United in the highly entertaining but difficult round of 64 tie on Wednesday.

Nasarawa United who are twice runners-up of the oldest knock-out inter-club competition in Nigeria, in 2016 and 2021, will know their next opponents when the draws are held.

They will return to Jos where they will take on visiting Shooting Stars.

The match-day 16 2022/23 Abridged Nigeria Premier Football League, is scheduled for Saturday, 29th April, 2023, by 4pm.

Meanwhile, Nasarawa State FA  Cup champions FC Basira were beaten 2-0 by Sunshine Stars of Akure in Lokoja, Kogi state .
