Gov Abduallhi Sule has reiterated his resolve to Invest in primary school Education in Nasarawa State.

Engr Sule made this known over the weekend In Akwanga while flagging off the distribution of “School Attendance Register” put together by Hon Larry Ven-Bawa member representing Akwanga North in the state assembly and visionary group of teachers, Akwanga LG.

84 Public and Private primary schools as well as 15 junior secondary schools both public and private cutting across Akwanga LGA will benefit from the 2,000 school Attendence Register copies.

While expressing his excitement of meeting the primary school teachers one on one for the first since assuming office, Engr Sule revealed he setup a baseline group to take an educational survey of 1,400 primary schools in the state.

On coming in as the Governor and knowing that Nasarawa has the worst index in the Education in the country, I set up a baseline consultant team that went all out to 1,400 primary schools, some of them are only primary school in name and they told me that we should go ahead and do this, this and that. They told me that in some schools you have only three or four primary school teachers, some schools pupils were sitting on the floor…. And base on that, we started working, Nasarawa state is the only state that have paid their 2023 contribution to UBEC, that’s is why we awarded the contract for most of our classes to be built, offices and toilet through the funding, however our biggest challenge is teachers and not just teachers but teachers who are committed and that’s why I approved 4,700 teachers for recruitment.”

Engr Sule also used the occasion to call on the teachers to keep on putting thier best, thereby admonishing other state assembly members to emulate Larry Ven-Bawa by investing in Education no matter how little.

Am happier with this gentle Man, forget about his goof , his not the first member from Akwanga North, this is the cheapest thing he has done, any time he gets money he spends it on his people, he doesn’t build hotel for himself, this is what Larry is about and I commend him for that, if the people of Akwanga North do not vote Larry again, even God almighty would look at them and know what to tell them…Am happy today to see you and am pleading with you , that we are relying on you for the success of primary school education, please take this back to your people…” He said

Reacting to the School Attendance Register, Mr Ven-Bawa said he’s keeping to promises made while campaigning, more so he wants to encourage parents to send thier wards to class and inturn help the schools to keep proper records of pupils and students.

“It means a lot , when you have power , think of what you will do that would have a direct bearing, what I thought is nothing, His excellency commended me for it” he said

On his part, Mr peter Ngbouku, Head Administration Education Secretary Akwanga who also doubles as Group head Visionary group of teachers said they decided to collaborate with Gov Abduallhi Sule and Hon Larry Ven-Bawa to help secure the future of education in the council.
