Supposed Akwanga North Member Elect Larry Ven Bawa (APC) says once been sworn-in June 2023, he would add value to the people of his Constituency. Hon Ven-Bawa made this known over the weekend in Akwanga after receiving royal blessings from different paramount rulers in Akwanga LGC.
The visit to the paramount rulers was informed by the Supreme Court Verdict on Friday 31st March 2023, which Hon. Ven-Bawa and his Lawyer Barr. Abdullahi S. Gayam, claimed they won to unseat the Nasarawa State Deputy Speaker Hon. Nehemiah Tsentse Dandura as the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for Akwanga North.
_I feel loved by my people, I feel democracy has come to stay, I feel the judiciary is the last hope for a common man, I feel even in the process of politicking, there are people out there ready to lift up a common man who is nobody, we are informed by that positive impact, that’s why we came out with an agenda which is Value Addition.
Hon. Larry Ven-Bawa further extended his hands of fellowship to Hon. Dandura and his supporters to help build the Constituency.
Barr. Gayam on his part, while giving a summary of the verdict by Hon. Justice Emmanuel Ajim of the Supreme Court Abuja , said the case was stroke-out for missing the time of filling Pre- election matters within the 180 days at the High Court in Lafia, with that, the Supreme Court set aside the judgment of the Appeal court in Makurdi, Benue State.
_This is a preselection matter that is time regulated the 180 days within which the Federal High Court Lafia had to hear and determine the merit of the case has elapsed, it can no longer entertain that matter again, therefore it became academic. The suit filled by Hon. Nehemiah Tsentse before the federal high Court was stroke-out so it means the initial candidature of Hon.Ven-Bawa was restored by the Judgement of Supreme Court.
Barr. Gayam also appreciated the court for being the hope of the common man.
Meanwhile, council to Hon. Dandura, Barr. Matthew Burrka said they would study the judgment which comes out Monday 3rd April, 2023.
“Because of the controversy it has generated we would read the judgment frist.
On their parts, PST. Samson Gamu Yare, the Chun Mada and Dr. Kwanta Yakubu, Commissioner, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, charged Hon.Ven-Bawa to deliver the peoples Mandate just like his slogan “Value Addition” and be a bridge builder between Gov. Sule and the people.
Other paramount Rulers visited include the Chun Nku, Sarkin Gudi, amongst other individuals.
