Nasarawa Investment Summit: UN, FG Applauds Gov. Sule For Creating Enabling Environment For Investors

The United Nations alongside President Bola Tinubu has commended Engr. Abduallhi Sule led Nasarawa state government for creating an enabling environment for investors to invest.President Bola Tinubu represented by Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, made this known on Wednesday during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Nasarawa State Investment Summit, in Lafia.The theme for this year : “Industrial Renaissance” focus on Mining, Agriculture, Oil and Gas According to president Tinubu Nasarawa State had great potentials for economic growth giving its strategic location and endowment in natural resources.

This achievement underscores his reputation as an investment destination and his dedication to provide enabling business environment.I, therefore, urge other states to emulate Nasarawa example by intensifying efforts to attract investment. Initiatives like this investment summit are pivotal in showcasing the vast opportunities that await investors across all sectors of the Nigerian economy.”

United Nations Deputy Sectatery Hajiya Amina Mohammed commended the people and government of Nasarawa State for their ambitious economic strategy as reflected in the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS.)

Governor Abdullahi Sule who was excited, said organizing the 2024 Investment Summit will further expand the state’s existing pathways to leverage on the industrial, agricultural and mining sectors towards enhancing inclusive and sustainable wealth creation and economic prosperity, just as the first investment submit did in 2022 themed: “Diamond in the Rough: The Making of a New Investment Frontier.More so, he appreciated the President, other dignitaries and captains of industries for being part of the summit.

Interestingly, the recently commissioned Avatar New Energy Materials Company Limited in Nasarawa State performed by Mr. President, the ASGARD Mining and Processing Plant, Karu, the Nasarawa Technology Village Project in Karu, as well as other numerous investments being carried out in the State were all informed by the outcome of the Summit in 2022,…It is for this reason that we have adopted our policy document christened “Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS) as a driving force towards the initiation and implementation of various programmed and policies which we have achieved so far,”

Earlier in his opening remark Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Managing Director, Nasarawa State Investment Development Agency (NASIDA) said that the summit was not to celebrate what the state had achieved, but in anticipation of greater accomplishment.He explained that the policy document of the state, NEDS was the driving force towards the initiation and implementation of various programmes and policies, which the government had achieved so far.

Highlight of the Second edition of Nasarawa investment submit which climaxes Thursday 17th May 2024, was Deal singing, SMEs challenge, show casing of businesses to investors by business owners, panel discussion among others.
