NACABS Polytechnic Akwanga, Nasarawa State, To Upgrade Four ND Courses To HND.…Calls For Local And International Support

The Rector Nacabs Polytechnic says the private institution is ready to upgrade four of it’s National Diploma Course (ND) to Higher National Diploma (HND).

Prof. Donald Adigizi, Rector of the citadel made this known during its 11th Matriculation ceremony for Six Hundred (600) National Diploma ND 1 students into eight departments, for 2022/2023 academic session, which took place Friday 28th April, 2023 at the school premise.

Prof. Adigizi further said the institution is taking the bold step to see all it’s ND course are upgraded to HND.

“I am delighted to inform you that our institution is taking bold steps towards upgrading some of our courses to Higher National Diploma (HND) level , namely Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science and Statistic. However, we recognize that getting these courses accredited is the next crucial step and we are working tirelessly to achieve this goal. Additionally, we are also dedicated to upgrading other courses, particularly those in the school of Engineering.”

In terms of introduction of Information Communication Technology (ICT) Prof Adigizi said Nacabs Polytechnic is partnering with a Swedish company “Schooltry” to improve learning through “Google Meet and Zoom”.

“We recognize the importance of leveraging emerging technologies in the Area of ICT and Modern Technologies to ensure that the delivery of academic excellence is not compromised. To this end, we have partnered with Schooltry, a company based in Sweden , to work with us to mitigate the global emergencies that COVID-19 has brought in the area of education. As a result of this partnership, we have been highly motivated to implement online classes using platform like Google Meet and Zoom, which have proven to be effective in several classes.” Prof. Adigizi said.

Meanwhile, Prof. Adigizi made it clear Nacabs Polytechnic is ready to partner with international and Local donors for funding and grant, to help tackle some challenges the institution is facing.

“As we move forward, we recognize that we face a number of challenges especially issues related to funding. We are committed to diversifying our sources of income and are open to international and Local funding/Grant. Our designated team is currently scouting and applying for these grants to support our Academic Programs and infrastructure.“ He said

President and Founder of Nacabs Polytechnic Mr David Abuluya who also doubles as Eggon Cultural Development Association (ECDA) president world wide charged the students to face thier studies and shun Social vices . He also said the institution would continue with it’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) despite giving over 1000 “Nacabs Polytechnic Scholarship Scheme” to Marginalized Youths and Less Privileged persons.

On thier parts Chollom Emmanuel (Computer science department) and Emmanuel Esson (Mass Communication department) both appreciated God for the Matriculation thereby promising to give their best in the citadel.

Six hundred (600) Nacabs ND students took the oath of obidence and loyalty from the department of Accounting, Businesses Administration and management, Computer science, Statistic, Mass Communication, others are Computer Engineering, Electrical Electronic Engineering and Computer science.

Goodwill messages where given by the Chun Mada’s representatives, Aliyu Giwa, Lt. Col. Zando Danjuma, commandant, Command science and technical secondary school Rinze, among others who graced the Matriculation.
